The First State Bank Art Collection, also known as the Briscoe Art & Antique Collection, offers a unique opportunity to view fine art and antiques inside a working bank.
Located inside the First State Bank of Uvalde, the Briscoe Art & Antique Collection transforms a typical banking errand into a cultural experience. Donated by former Texas Governor Dolph Briscoe and his wife, Janey, the collection features an impressive array of primarily Western art and Victorian-era antiques. Visitors can admire these pieces decorating the walls and main floor of the bank during regular business hours. It is a distinctive way to appreciate regional history and artistry in an unexpected setting.
The collection is located inside the First State Bank of Uvalde at 200 East Nopal Street.
The collection is open to the public during regular bank lobby hours, which are Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
There is no admission fee to view the collection, as it is displayed in the public areas of the bank.
